Most of them will tell you that pronouns don't equal gender, and that they identify as lesbians since they're either fem or fem alligned (most of the time). They also state that gender is a social construct so you can be whatever gender you want to be, and that dyke can only be reclaimed by people who identify as lesbians. So let's debunk those and show how and why it hurts the community.
Terfs and homophobes under a different name?
The statement "pronouns don't equal gender" is simply transphobic (in english). You use he to refer to a male specimen, you use she to refer to a female specimen, you use they to refer to someone who's neither or a bunch of people. The only point of those pronouns is to show gender. English isn't gendered, in english a cat is an it, not a she or he. It just pushes back the effort trans people put into fighting for their pronouns. Why do trans men want to be called "he" so badly? Cause people see he as male, cause he means man. I've heard "pronouns dont equal gender" before, and it was coming from someone who thought trans women arent women. How come he doesn't mean man, but if you call them "dude" they say you misgender them? Isnt the word dude also a social construct? How come "dude" means man, but "he" doesn't? How come they ask a trans man, with a masculine name, with "mlm " in his bio for his pronouns? Yet say that dude or bro mean man? You'd be surprised by how many terfs support he/theysbians (as long as they're afab) as they too say pronouns dont equal gender
Most of the hesbian/theysbian/supporter have been extremely violent towards the exclusionists to the point of homophobia and death threats. It's not hard to see how transphobic they are from those screenshots. A trans man said he's a trans man and they still ask for pronouns, which can result in dysphoria for the trans man. They're also saying that sexuality is about one's sex rather than gender, and lots of them agree with hesbians/theysbians as long as theyre afab. That or they either accept literal straight men. How is this transphobia, biphobia and homophobia not hurting the community? How is them allowing cishet men in not hurting the community? They're throwing violence and death threats around like its nothing, they people see they id as lesbians and put the blame on lesbians. They push the stereotype that lesbians are agressive by identifying as something they are not and giving us a bad name.
Mysoginy and obsession with slurs
When it comes to theysbians, the argument is "I'm fem/fem alligned so I identify as a lesbian". How exactly does being fem alligned have anything to do with lesbians? Are they insinuating feminity=being a woman? Can't you be fem alligned and gay, or straight? Not only does it push this sexist agenda that feminity=woman and masculinity=man, but it makes you wonder: how many straight nonbinary people have you seen? Why do they always identify as gay or lesbian but NEVER as straight? For the slurs. It doesnt take more than 2 minutes to see how many hesbians/theysbians have dyke in their username or use dyke as much as they can.
How does it hurt the community in conclusion?
Not only do they give us a bad name by identifying by our labels and being total apes on the internet, but they're also blatantly homophobic, biphobic and transphobic. They try to change the meanings of those identities and lose all the progress we fought for, and they do so by spluring terf rhetorics and being transphobic. As seen in the evidence.
